His Excellency received a briefing on DMCC’s role in attracting, facilitating, and promoting global trade through Dubai, as well as the economic opportunities presented by growing the nation’s precious metals and stones industry.

During a tour of DMCC’s headquarters, His Excellency visited the UAE Kimberley Process (KP) Office – the entry point for rough diamonds in the UAE, Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) – the world’s largest diamond tender floor, and Dubai Design Academy – a training facility that creates and develops the next generation of jewellery designers.

Accompanied by a senior team from the UAE Ministry of Economy – including His Excellency Abdulla Al Saleh, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade, and His Excellency Juma Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade – His Excellency was updated on the success of DMCC’s world leading Free Zone, progress made on the Uptown Dubai district and recent expansion plans to the DMCC Tea Centre and DMCC Coffee Centre.

DMCC hosted an official delegation from the UAE Ministry of Economy in January where His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri – the former UAE Minister of Economy – toured Almas Tower and met with industry representatives to discuss the UAE Cabinet decision to enhance the country’s status as a global hub for gold and jewellery trade.
