DMCC – the world’s flagship Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise – hosted the exclusive Dubai unveiling of the “De Beers Cullinan Blue”, an extraordinary natural treasure and one of the rarest blue diamonds in the world, at the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE).

Valued in excess of USD 48 million, the 15.1 carat internally flawless stone is being offered at Sotheby’s in partnership between De Beers and Diacore, and is the largest vivid blue diamond to ever appear at auction. The unveiling at the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) was managed by Sotheby’s and took place during Dubai Diamond Week, just days after the Dubai Diamond Conference convened global industry leaders and over 550 delegates to discuss the future of diamonds.

The De Beers Cullinan Blue diamond will be available for viewing on Friday 25 February by appointment only and will be sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong in late April 2022.

In line with its mandate to attract, facilitate and drive new trade flows through Dubai, DMCC is the driving force behind the emirate’s establishment as a leading global hub for the diamond trade. The Dubai Diamond Exchange is the largest diamond tender facility in the world and home to over 1,100 diamond companies, providing members and industry professionals with state-of-the-art infrastructure, facilities, and services to grow and trade with confidence.
