As part of DMCC’s CSR strategy to promote initiatives in support of the local community
Dubai, UAE: 23 May, 2013: The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (‘DMCC’), Executive Chairman, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, visited Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly (the ‘Centre’) today as part of DMCC’s commitment towards supporting the local community. The DMCC delegation also included Malcolm Wall Morris, CEO, Gautam Sashittal, COO, and Maryam Al Hashemi, Government Liaison Director. During the visit, they met with each resident individually and presented them with gifts as mementos of Dubai’s vision and achievements.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, said:
“Inspired by the leadership of Dubai, we are constantly looking towards the future and for ways to achieve and exceed our goals. It is also important to remember our heritage and those that helped lay the foundations of our country’s current successes. Meeting the residents of Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly today has been inspiring and I’ve enjoyed the stories and insights they have shared.”
Located by Al Mamzar beach, the Community Centre was established to provide special care and assistance to senior citizens in the UAE. There are 27 residents who live at the Centre, with 10-15 clients who visit on a daily basis. It offers a wide variety of health and social services, including psychiatric care, social support, health care, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and occupational services. There are 71 people working at the Centre; 11 in the management team, and 60 nurses, doctors and medical specialists. Elderly UAE nationals can visit the centre during the day are encouraged to avail of the specialist care provided.
